Compared to the

conventional charge based memory, new non-volatile resistive memory technology has been

proposed for the use in the next generation computer systems.

 In this

talk, we’ll review brief history of resistive memory development past 15yrs.

 Then, the

basic operation principles and the underlying

physical mechanisms will be provied and  the challenges

for application and mass production will be discussed.
